Brief details:- Mirathon is a beautifully renovated and restored 17th century stone farmhouse near Duras in the Lot-et-Garonne. There are four separate gites on the same site which when taken together sleeps 22 people with their own stunning 11mx5m pool. Nestling in undulating countryside with Bergerac to the North and Bordeaux to the West, Mirathon is surrounded by activities suitable for everyone. You can explore bastide towns, cycle around the countryside, go wine tasting, visit historic castles, play tennis, go horse riding, discover fantastic restaurants - whatever. However if you want to relax in beautiful surroundings taking an occasional dip in the stunning 11m x 5m Roman pool and lying in the sun with a glass of wine in your hand - the choice is yours. |

An ideal holiday spot for groups or large families families with each gite having its own private accommodation, terrace (or balcony), BBQ, patio furniture and lighting. In addition in the garden there is a further large barbecue area with plenty of tables and chairs for everybody and extensive enclosed gardens with masses of space for ball games etc.
The gite Aquitaine sleeps 8 people, Dordogne 6, Garonne 4 and Gascogne, on the ground floor is suitable for a couple and two children as it has bunk beds. During the restoration work care has been taken to retain the lovely stone walls - keeping it cool in summer - and exposed beams whilst providing all the modern conveniences of self catering.accommodation. |

Surrounding the fenced salt water pool which has steps at one end and slopes to a depth of 2m are further gardens and terrace with the huge banana tress providing welcome shade. Sun loungers, cushions, parasols and shower are provided. Guests can enjoy a game of table tennis in the covered play area which is complete with board games whilst there is a further "quiet" sitting room adjoining. |

You are ideally placed to see the best of this wonderful area, with many local day and evening markets and child-friendly restaurants offering food which caters for all tastes. Located in the wine area of Cotes de Duras, Mirathon is very close to the appelations of Bordeaux, Graves, Saint Emilion, Bergerac and the delightful sweet wines of Monbazillac and Sauternes.
Golf enthusiats will love the beautiful 18 hole course Chateau de Vigiers - 30 minutes - with several other courses nearer. Lac de Castelgaillard - an inland lake complete with sandy beaches is a 10 min. drive. Bergerac with its fine old buildings, boat trips along the Dordogne, adventure tours for young and old is 30 minutes away. With sunflowers, chateaux, rivers, vinyards and Bastide towns this is a pocket of land with all the riches, beauty and diversity for which rural France is renowned. Everything is here for a perfect relaxing holiday. |
